Last week certain parts of the country received their first proper dusting of snow for this winter. Another cold front is predicted to affect the whole country a little later this month, which may just be the last cold spell for this winter. However, all agree that on the whole we have enjoyed a fairly mild winter season this year.
These conditions are the pre-cursors of a strong El Nino weather pattern predicted for the coming year, which will cause far warmer and drier weather throughout 2027, and bring some of its own challenges. Not only will this affect the entire farming sector, but it will also place extra strain on water-supply systems that are already buckling under the strain of a massive demand, with many on the verge of collapse due to failing infrastructure and years of neglect.
Is it not ironic that President Ramaphosa led the negotiations and writing of our countries constitution where water was declared a basic human right?
South Africans were mercifully spared of a likely hike in the interest rate this month, and there is some good news for owners of petrol vehicles who will enjoy a significant reduction in the fuel price. However, the inflation rate is unfortunately moving in the wrong direction, and one can only hope that it will ease soon and by doing so, not force the Reserve Bank Governor’s hand into another interest rate hike.
Construction to our fifty-home Kaelo residential complex within the Melokhule Estate in Albertsdal is progressing well. We already have our first roof structures up, and this within the first month of pouring the first concrete on site! If all goes to plan, all Kaelo homes will be completed and ready for occupation by November this year.
Kaelo is our second residential complex within the now established Melokhule security estate situated in Albertsdal, an easy eight-minute drive from the Alberton CBD. The R59 seamlessly links Albertsdal to major arterial highways servicing the greater Johannesburg area, making Albertsdal one of the fastest growing nodes in the greater Ekurhuleni.
Some exciting changes were made to both the two- and three-bedroom designs that not only bring a fresh modern look to the simplex homes, but also additional energy saving features. I firmly believe that our homes offer some of the best value for money as far as Albertsdal - and most probably Alberton - currently has to offer.
We have recently sold out the 5th phase at our Riverspray Lifestyle Estate development in Vanderbijlpark and 30% of homes in the 6th phase have also been secured by prospective clients.
My professional team overseeing designs have tweaked the existing floor plan and I am excited to share that this new design will be rolled out in our next phase. I firmly believe that this new design will be positively received by the market and will bolster sales in the last remaining three phases of the development.
