Dear Friends, Property Investors and Enthusiasts,

Once again it seems as if we skipped Spring and moved from Winter to Summer overnight, with temperatures reaching 30°C on some days… Our weather forecasters are predicting that our first decent rainfall will only occur early in 2018 but we are certainly hoping for a few early showers to kick start the season and help with dust control measures on all our current construction sites.

During the past month KPMG made the startling announcement that they no longer stand by their report on the findings of a rogue investigative unit within the South African Revenue Services - a report that was pivotal in the later sacking of then Minister of Finances, Pravin Gordhan. Since the statement was made, a number of Directors within KPMG have resigned and only time will tell if the company will survive this scandal. Hopefully this is a stark reminder to everyone that they will eventually be held accountable for any possible wrongdoing!

Alleged mismanagement and probable corruption in Eskom and SAA has also been exposed and the government will have some fancy footwork to do within the coming months to try and stimulate the struggling South African economy which will build confidence in consumers and possible investors – and prevent a further downgrade.
