The Renico Construction Team

Nico Louw - Managing Director

Nico Louw’s entrepreneurial spirit became evident at the very young age of 16 when he discovered the Alienation of Land Act and by the age of 19 he had already acquired three properties by this means, which have served him well over the years.

After matriculating in 1989, a short spell at University was terminated when he decided that the property business was where he really wanted to be. Starting at the bottom, sitting in show houses for agents while studying for his Board exams, it was not long before he had his own Estate Agency, which eventually employed over 120 Agents. Taking in a partner to manage the day-to-day business of the company allowed Nico to concentrate on the development and marketing of new residential projects. Frustrated by the poor project management of many developers, Nico started Renico Construction in 1998. He eventually sold his share of the estate agency to his partner at the end of 2003.

With earthmoving equipment a continual need in the building industry, Nico acquired an old TLB in 1998, and when this was not in use on his own construction sites, he rented it out to local builders and contractors. It wasn’t long before Nico realised that there was a need for a more extensive range of equipment and Renico Plant Hire was established. Today it is one of the leading plant hire companies in the North West area of the Witwatersrand.

Environmental issues and recycling have become important issues within the global community, and with this fact foremost in his mind, Nico went on to establish Renico Quarrying and Crushing in 2007. This has proved to be of great benefit to the Renico Group, not only enabling building waste products to be recycled, but also opening up further opportunities in the field of quarrying.

Nico is passionate about the industry, the Renico "family" of dedicated staff (which has grown considerably with the development of the group) and the environment. He remains the “hands on” driving force behind the companies, instilling that same passion in those who work with him.
