Dear Friends, Property Investors and Enthusiasts
2016 was a very challenging yet rewarding year for Renico and is quickly coming to an end. I would first and foremost like to take the opportunity to wish all our clients a peaceful holiday season and a prosperous new year.
Please note that our offices will close on the 15th of December and will reopen on the 9th of January 2017. Therefore no newsletter will be sent in January but I promise that the February newsletter will be packed with exciting news, especially with information on the launch of the first of many exciting developments planned for 2017!
Since penning my last newsletter, the United States voted Donald Trump into the White House. It will be interesting to see what steps he will be taking to ‘Make America Great Again’ and especially if he will keep to all his election manifestos which won him the vote. On the home front our political landscape may be set for a few (and long overdue) changes. Cracks are showing everywhere and one can only hope that someone steps up to the plate to help steer this beautiful country to achieve the potential it has to offer.
With the Reserve Bank’s decision last week to maintain the repo rate at 7,0% and with both Moody and Fitch keeping to their previous sovereign ratings of South Africa where they were, one can only hope that the stability will form building blocks for better economic results in 2017.
Another dynamic arm was recently added to the Renico Group of Companies when Renico Real Estate (Pty) Ltd was brought to life. It had come to my attention that a number of our clients require the services of a property broker to assist them with the sales and rentals of properties within their personal portfolios. We also receive enquiries on developments or properties not developed or offered by Renico Construction. Renico Real Estate will be adding service to this segment of the market. Judy Anderson recently joined the group to manage these commercial and industrial sales and rentals. She has worked for Growthpoint, Broll and Redefine in the past and I believe her knowledge and experience will benefit this new venture.
